To my Children,
Through this life you will be faced with many storms. Storms that are scary and dark. The cold will be
relentless. Isolation, almost unbearable. You’ll want to stop, turn away and give up.
As the weight of the world makes your shoulders and feet heavy, I want you to remember, the beast
that faces the storm.
It does so head on and steadfast. Carrying primal instinct, tradition and the wisdom
to know there are better days ahead. Fierce against the harshness of reality.
The beast is brave.
Though it would be easier to turn its back and shelter itself from suffering, there is a promise of peace.
With an unwavering belief of hope.
The beast carries on.
It knows beyond the blinding vastness of uncertainty, there is relief. Driven toward the warmth of the
sun. The loneliness melts away. The sparkling gentleness of light dances joyfully alongside awakening
life. A reward for its sacrifices.
The beast heals.
An environment that was once brutal and painful is now beautiful and playful. Where once there was a
frantic urgency to survive, now a childlike wonder to explore.
The beast rejoices.
So my children, as it is certain that you will have many trials on your journey, it is also certain that they
too shall pass.
Remember the beast.
Face your storms head on and steadfast.
Be brave, carry on, heal,
and rejoice.
Be resistant and resilient.
As the beast, as am I, as are you.
